| Publication of the documents sent to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the French consulate in Chania, regarding events on Crete in the two years preceding the Cretan revolution of 1866. As historical sources they shed light on various aspects of the disorder that had spread throughout the island, and reveal some of the diplomatic maneouvres that took place before the Cretan struggle. The documents are preserved in the archive of the French consulate at Chania, which is held at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. |
