| Publication of four documents of Cretan interest which were held in the Zakynthos Archives prior to the disastrous fire of 1953. These are: the will of Rethymnon icon painter Elias or Elios Moskos (1666); two contracts relating to loans granted by Nikiforos Skotakis, metropolitan of Crete, to Yiannis Leotarakis, Thodoris Podochtis and Yiannis Someritis, so as to insure goods transported by ship (1683); and a solemn statement made by the priest who officiated at the wedding of Zakynthos noble Konstantinos Sigouros to Zambella Mousouropoulou from Chania (1648). Evidence of Moskos’ activities drawn from other documents in the Zakynthos Archive is also provided. |
