| Publication of two patriarchal letters concerning Meletios Kavasilas, Metropolitan of Crete. The first was sent by Patriarch Gregorios VI when Kavasilas was Metropolitan of Didymoteicho, to announce his transfer to the Metropolis of Crete. The second was sent by the same patriarch to the council of elders and notables in the district of Didymoteicho, to notify them that the transfer could not be revoked. Both documents were drawn up on 4th December 1868. They are held in the Historical Museum of Crete. |
