The dependency status of these two particular monasteries in Rethymnon district had lapsed since the time of Gerasimos of Monemvasia, Metropolitan of Crete (1725-1755). The two decrees were found among the papers of Timotheos Veneris, Metropolitan of Crete, and were deposited at the Historical Museum of Crete.
