| Presentation and analysis of 18 Slav loan words in Modern Greek located by the researcher in the glossary to Psaltis’ Θρακικά (1905), as indicative of the phenomenon earlier documented by Gustav Meyer in his 1895 study Die slavischen, albanischen und rumänischen Lehnwörter des Neugriechischen. All words listed come from the northern Modern Greek dialect of Saranta Ekklisies, leading to the conclusion that the influence of Bulgarian on Greek in that area is residual, and minimal compared to the number of Greek words in Bulgarian, particularly in the sphere of culture. |
