| A study of three Ancient Greek epigrams found on burial monuments in Ostia, Rome, with proposals regarding the restoration of passages that have survived incomplete. The author casts doubt on the hypothesis that the epigrams reflect Pythagorean ideas, as previously argued by Margherita Guarducci, and points out a number of other sources of inspiration for the anonymous composers, including the Homeric epics. |
