It is the work of Makarios Makris. The manuscript is dated to 1422, when Makris was a monk at Vatopedi. The redactor based his work on the biography of St Andreas by the patrikios and kyaistor (quaestor) Nicetas, probably written in the latter half of the 10th century. He alters, however, some of the information provided, slipping into hyperbole. He is only original when referring to the saint’s written works.
