| In a letter to the Editorial Board of Kretika Chronika, V. Laourdas replies to the review published by M. Manousakas in the same volume of the periodical, commenting on his series of studies entitled Cretan Palaeography. Laourdas accepts most of the comments made by Manousakas and other colleagues, pledging to re-address the same issues and fill in the gaps in his own work in the future. Nevertheless, he defends the methodological principles used in publishing the texts and casts doubt on the validity of some of the recommendations made to him. He stresses that his principal intention was to offer unpublished material, which could be used in various ways in the study of Cretan history. |
