| This contribution points out weaknesses and inaccuracies in studies by Vasilios Laourdas on Cretan history and literature in the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries, published in the first volumes of Kretika Chronika under the general title Cretan Palaeography.
The author identifies and amends the main errors made in critical analysis, publication and annotation of a number of texts first published by Laourdas, and provides references to editions of works already known, which he had regarded as unpublished.
