Publication of an unknown version of the life of Aghios Myron, preserved in the early 12th century Codex 17 in the main Patriarchal Library at Jerusalem. A later copy of the same version is to be found in Codex 16 in the Library of the Cross, likewise kept at the Patriarchate of Jerusalem. A Vatican manuscript (Vaticanus graecus 1190), copied in the mid-16th century at the expense of Georgios Avramiaios, Catholic Bishop of Sitia, contains a text entitled The life and times of Myron, Bishop of Crete, saint and miracle-worker. This, however, is a collation of two different texts: the life of Aghios Autonomos and the Frightful and salutary vision of Kosmas the monk. The same codex also preserves a collection of miracles worked by Aghios Fanourios on Rhodes and Crete. |
