| Announcing the establishment of the Society of Cretan Historical Studies (E.K.I.M.) three months earlier, with an analytical presentation of its objectives according to its articles of association. Its main fields of activity are the promotion of Cretan historical and ethnographical studies, the foundation of the Historical Museum of Crete and the support of local intellectual activities. The temporary Board of Governors, appointed at the E.K.I.M. founding meeting, presents its initiatives for tackling the four basic problems on whose solution the success of the whole endeavour depends: the consolidation and development of the Society as an Association, ensuring adequate funds, the organisation of the method of collecting material for building up museum collections, and the creation of the necessary conditions for the foundation of the museum. |
