The wide variety of deeds includes powers of attorney, leases, pawn loans, contracts, quittances, purchase and sale of goods, animals and slaves, and wills. These documents are valuable sources for the study of various aspects of the history of the Greek nation under Venetian rule. The original material is preserved in file 141 of the series of Candia notaries (Notai di Candia) of the Venice State Archive.
