Two documents referring to aspects of its history are published here with brief notes. The first is the letter of confirmation by which Patriarch Parthenios IV secured the privileges of the monastery in February 1657, during the siege of Chandax. The second is a note dated 1729 from an Athonite codex concerning the regime, inhabitants and fate of the monastery, from the late 16th century up to and including the first period of Ottoman rule.
