| An encomium of the Ten Holy Martyrs by the protopope and preacher in Crete Theodoros Palladas is published from codex 1592 12 of Caracallou Monastery. The encomium was delivered by the author in the church of Aghia Ekaterini in Kastro (Heraklion) on the feast of the Ten Martyrs in 1633. Another encomium in their honour was written by Theodore's son Gerasimos Palladas, the future Patriarch of Alexandria.
