| A detailed list of 194 letters from the correspondence of Maximos Margounios, Bishop of Cythera (1549-1602) from the Mss of Parisini Supplément grec 621, 1310 and 1334. The list is preceded by a brief biography of the Cretan cleric and man of letters. The description of each letter comprises the address and date in French and Greek and the incipit in Greek. Μanuscript concordance tables, an index of first lines and an index of names are also provided. The letters were written during Margounios’ sojourn in Venice between 1569 and 1601 and mostly date from 1590-91. The majority are by Margounios himself to over 50 correspondents. There are also seven minor works by the Bishop. |
