Miliotis collaborated with the Turks during the siege of Chandax and became the first Clerk of the Porte in Crete, whose main responsibility was collecting poll and other taxes. He was condemned to death by hanging, on suspicion of secret dealings with the Venetians to undermine Ottoman rule. The relevant Ottoman documents are presented in Greek translation in the appendix. |
