A summary presentation of the archaeological finds comprising the Stylianos Giamalakis collection, classified according to function: vessels, figurines and votive animals, large Roman relief and bas-relief marble sculptures, weapons, tools and objects for personal adornment, seal stones and ring stones, coins and valuable gold artifacts. The material covers a lengthy time span, ranging from Neolithic times to classical antiquity, with emphasis on Minoan times, deriving not only from Crete, but also from areas beyond the island, even encompassing Boeotia. Finally, the author stresses that the collection needs to be studied in greater depth. |
